The BRIDGE Discovery instrument promotes projects that identify, analyze and implement the innovation potential of research results. The program supports qualified researchers who want to carry out a research and innovation project with the clear aim of developing products, services, social innovations and other commercial or non-commercial solutions. It promotes cooperation between basic research and applied research in order to realize the innovation potential of research results. Collaborations between universities, federal institutes of technology, research institutes, universities of applied sciences (UAS) and universities of teacher education (UTE) are viewed positively in the evaluation process. BRIDGE Discovery projects can deal with all types of innovation from all research areas, with the exception of clinical studies.
