Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt - Doctoral scholarship programme

The Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt (DBU) awards doctoral scholarships for doctoral studies at a German university (applications can also be submitted by foreigners who are authorised to do so). The DBU scholarship program for doctoral students serves to promote qualified young scientists in applied environmental research and to build up an interdisciplinary network of environmental experts. It supports doctoral theses at German universities that are clearly related to current environmental issues and contribute to practical and sustainable solutions.

Applications are welcome from all disciplines, i.e. not only from the natural and engineering sciences but also from the social sciences, humanities, economics and law. Interdisciplinary environmental research is especially encouraged. The DBU announces additional focus topics in the fellowship program at irregular intervals. These fellowship focus areas open up extended opportunities for cooperation and networking with other DBU activities. Current key topic: Marine nature conservation - protection and perservation of the ecological diversity of the North Sea and Baltic Sea
