Walo Kamm Foundation

The foundation is active in the areas of education, health, human rights, development cooperation, environmental and climate protection, and the protection of children and women in Switzerland and abroad. The foundation supports existing tax-exempt or tax-exemptible charitable organisations/projects worldwide and initiates tax-exempt or tax-exemptible innovative projects and activities that aim to improve the living conditions of a significant number of people.

The foundation can initiate its own projects and provide technical or financial support to local organisations with comparable tax-exempt or tax-exemptible objectives in Germany and abroad.
Its funding focuses on the following strategic target areas:
- Awareness raising: The funded projects pursue a process of awareness raising by identifying or presenting an existing need for action and recommendations for action.
- Social justice: The projects are guided by the social principle that goods and burdens in a society should be distributed as fairly as possible between individuals and social groups.
- Innovative development: The projects tend to take a novel approach to development, rather than simply following the style of traditional development cooperation.
- Sustainability: The projects are guided by sustainability criteria (ecological, social and economic) and a positive "handprint".
