Helmut Horten Foundation: Young Investigator Grants

The Helmut Horten Foundation supports ambitious research initiatives that translate scientific innovation into meaningful and sustainable benefits for patients, with the ultimate goal of improving quality of life and life expectancy. Open to outstanding early-career researchers across all medical areas, this programme supports the next generation of scientific leaders with the potential to drive future breakthroughs.

The Foundation grants its funding within any field of medical research – from basic to clinically-applied research. The grant is intended to support well-defined research activities within the applicant’s general research program. It is not intended for partial or supplementary project support or for purely clinical studies.
Eligible for applications are independent, early-career group leaders in Switzerland. "Independent" is defined as employment as an independent principal investigator (PI) in group-leader position, equally eligible to apply for independent SNF project funding. "Early-career" is defined as within the first 6 years of independence as group leader by the deadline date of the relative call and after deducting any eligible interruptions.
