The charitable activities of the Metrohm Foundation are focused on eastern Switzerland, with an emphasis on the cantons of AR/AI and St. Gallen.
A large part of the foundation's activities are aimed at promoting science education at all levels of the education system and at promoting the economic structure in the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden.
The purpose of the Metrohm Foundation is defined as follows:
– Supporting and promoting charitable and cultural causes
– Supporting organisations and events whose activities and success serve the public interest
– Promoting the economic structure of the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden
– Contributing to the preservation of jobs in this canton
– Supporting and promoting defined projects in the field of development aid

Application Info
The Metrohm Foundation does not contribute to the running costs of any organisation or other foundation. These must be covered by membership fees or other income.
Only one-off projects that have no commercial background are supported. These must be based in Eastern Switzerland.
